Chilean Sea Bass Pan Seared

About

My favorite type of fish is the Chilean Sea Bass. It has a rich and buttery taste. It also takes on flavors of sauces and spices.

Chilean Sea Bass is not cheap, but you can get a high quality product at Costco. The roasted pineapple and habanero sauce can be found at Costco as well.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 2 Chilean Sea Bass fillets (4 to 6 oz)
  • 3 tbsp. of sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. of white miso paste
  • 1 tbsp. of fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp. of fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. of avocado oil, can use vegetable or olive oil
  • ¼ tsp. of salt
  • 2 tbsp. of roasted pineapple and habanero sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your Chilean Sea Bass paste: Add sesame oil, ginger, dill, miso paste, and salt and mix well.
  2. Marinate the Sea Bass fillets with the paste.
  3. Let it sit for 10 minutes or longer before cooking.
  4. Heat up a non-stick skillet over medium heat. I use a 6 to 8-inch non-stick skillet.
  5. Add 2 tbsp. of avocado oil and stir to coat the skillet evenly.
  6. Add Sea Bass fillets to the hot skillet and cook the Sea Bass fillets for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  7. Plate Sea Bass with your favorite side dish and top your fish with the roasted pineapple and habanero sauce.
